Red Ripper

HGTV.com recently posted an article describing “Jack (AKA Red Ripper) having the power to play rough all day”.

“Jack’s leading-edge teeth faced little challenge getting into and under multiple courses. What

I also liked was that the posterior teeth would grab nails while I extracted the tool from under

the shingles. This was frustrating at first, but once I learned the dance, I found this saved me loads of time: other shingle tear off tools miss these nails because they only work in one direction. The result is that I spent far less time when I walked the roof to find shiners — because they weren’t there — after I cleared it of shingles.”

Mark Clement – HGTV.com

The Red Ripper works awesome for hardwood floor tear off. Same idea as the other shingle rippers but this one is smooth on the back and slides well under the edges of the flooring.

“The Red Rippers work well. It is all I currently use. I work them hard and they seem to handle it, guys love them as well. When I’m ripping I like to make small piles with the garbage then go back with the ripper and it doubles as a shovel. As long as the tear off is decent.”

“I am a contractor and do alot of roofing – I panicked when I couldn’t find the long handle ripper at Bradco. I was worried they we’re discontinued due to low interest. I’m telling you right now, I would give up roofing if I could not find this tool! It’s sturdy, easy to handle, and gets the job done quick!”

“The Red Ripper is the best i have found, have been using them for about 7 years.”

“It doesn’t tear the shingles into tiny bits like other shovels. And the deeper teeth don’t slip off nails when prying them up as easy as other shovels. I have used other shovels that do work good but are a lot heavier then the rippers. And the head angle is very good on them so a lot less bending way over to pry.”

Eternabond

“Eternabond is probably the stickiest and most durable leak repair tape on Earth. It’s a family of astonishing roof repair products that come in several variations. ”

“Eternabond was originally developed for use sealing pipes under the ocean, and the adhesive backing is the most amazing part of this product line. It’s pressure-activated. Once you put the tape in place and squeeze it down, it’s not going anywhere. I never realized anything could be so sticky.”

“Eternabond products are also designed for repairing flat roof membranes, punctured roof valleys and leaking seams in RV roofs. It’s not cheap (a 4-inch by 50-foot roll cost about $50), but it’s more than worth the price.”

Steve Maxwell – technical editor of Canadian Home Workshop magazine

@RoofersWorld -i checked out yr site Eternabond Tape looks lots easier to use than the goo i just used & got all over me.

“We had a difficult situation with coping caps that were leaking at the seams. We used the EternaBond to cover the seams and it has worked perfectly, saving our customer $1,000′s of dollars. We have used it on a PVC Roof System with 100′s of feet of seam problems and it added at least another year to the life of the roof until a new roof system would fit our customers budget. I have not had a single call back on any repairs that I have used EternaBond to complete the repair.”

“I found the Eternabond tape went on very easy, somehow it seemed to me that to solve a leak problem, there should be a great deal of work, but such was NOT the case. Two coats of sealer were done as instructed, and I look forward to the end of leaks on my RV. I sealed the side seams, every vent, the skylight, the fridge vent, and around the upper luggage rails with the tape, and it all went on like magic.

Now I am repairing the inside damage which the water leak caused to the framing, the paneling, and the flooring in the storage compartment which has disintegrated.”

Banana Knife & Blades

“The Banana Gripper is by far the best utility knife I have ever used. I have a large hand and mild arthritis. The hefty design of the Gripper makes it easy for me to hang on to. The ease of the blade changes is unsurpassed.”

Snow Guards

“So far Snostop is working excellent. We recently received +/-40” of snow. The guards worked perfectly, I guess we can attribute that to Canadian ingenuity. In any case I was extremely happy that the units have functioned so well. I must say I’m glad I reduced the spacing and added a couple of extra braces given the depth of snow we received this year. I would be glad to promote your products to anyone that I know who might wish to purchase them. To date I haven’t had any issues with leaks. You have a great product and I look forward to being able to assist you in letting other people know the same.”

Little Red Ripper

A smokin’ new tool for that comes from the world of roofing — a place called Roofers World. Their Little Red Ripper has sharp, rugged teeth that make it the optimal tool for the pierce-and-pry method.

At 24 inches long, it’s got enough fetch to yank up floor boards and its sharp teeth mean business getting behind plaster. The strike-head loads the deck so cracking up a tile or beating a really stuck-in-there nail takes less effort.

I love it when I find tools that are versatile enough to go (safely) beyond their original design intentions.
